Thomas Holtz, influential dinosaur paleontologist whose research principally focuses on the phylogeny of Theropoda. In 1994 and 1996 Holtz proposed a major revision in theropod phylogenetics by erecting the clade Arctometatarsalia to more accurately represent the evolutionary history of Coelurosauria. Most recently Holtz (2001) has authored an extensive and cogent review of the taxonomy and phylogeny of Tyrannosauridae.
