Theia was a hypothetical mars-size planet that hit the Earth over 4.6 billion years ago. According to the giant impact hypothesis, part of Theia spiralled out and eventually became our moon. Through that time our moon and Earth/Theia was bombarded by comets and meteors thus, many scientists believed that harboured life & water and then eventually gave way for all sorts of life.
