Tetrapod
From EvoWiki
(Redirected from Tetrapods)
Tetrapoda is a clade of sarcopterygiian fish characterized by the presence of four limbs or limb-like appendages. Technically, it should be ranked as a subclass of the class Sarcopterygii (the lobe-finned fish), but, for historical reasons, Tetrapoda is considered a superclass.
Tetrapoda is the dominant vertebrate clade, containing amphibians, reptiles (including snakes and birds) and mammals.
