Talk:Samuel on evolution being no strong scientific explanation
From EvoWiki
I propose that the title of this claim be changed. It's much too vague as it stands, and the text of the claim makes a specific argument about biogeography and the fossil record. TheIncredibleEdibleOompaLoompa 00:00, 23 Aug 2005 (BST)
- Change all you want. But into what? (I tried to make the title short, but I guess it cut away too much...) --tk (t) 07:20, 23 Aug 2005 (BST)
- Something along the lines of "Biogeography and the Fossil Record are incapable of directly demonstrating evolution" maybe. I just think that the claim as it stands is essentially subjective and vague. I guess my alternate proposal is probably better covered elsewhere, though. Maybe a delete is in order? I think you've added enough other claims to keep us busy for a while anyways. :) TheIncredibleEdibleOompaLoompa 09:26, 23 Aug 2005 (BST)
- Hmm... The claim was originally called "Edmund Samuel is an evolutionist" but then I realized that he was just misquoted. I'd also like a list of quote mines, and this would be one of them. I'm not very happy with the Quote Mining Project because there is too much interpretation there. But perhaps I'm trying to do too much at once again. When I got a bit more time (next weekend? this evening?) I'll think about it. --tk (t) 10:54, 23 Aug 2005 (BST)
- Ah, yes, we already got Darwin on evolution of the eye, maybe this is a good pattern. Then this page would be "Samuel on strong scientific explanation for the presence of the diverse forms of life" or something like that. --tk (t) 10:59, 23 Aug 2005 (BST)
