Hey LPetrich, since I know nothing about physics, would you consider what the other guy wrote to be vandalism, or was he was just confused? --GFA 04:58, 30 Dec 2003 (GMT)
His or her physics is about as critical as your ability to attack punctuated equilibria. That paper of '72 by SJG and NE was my source for the Newton quote. Newton is a fraud! Modern science was not meant to be. Although I dislike the worship of Einstein or the uncertainity principle. It {HUP} is big in the zero point field of ether=virtual particle infamy. The page had the viewpoint of one. Is it better now? I'll go check and try to add my two cents of nonsense, ha ha ha.
I was just passing through in the search for Malcolm Bowden. I have and had no intention of being a vandal. I would appreciate any etiquette pointers that pertain to all copylefters.
Sincerely, 216.255
I think that his (her?) comments are so confused that they border on vandalism; I get the impression that he barely understands what he is talking about. Calling Isaac Newton a fraud is absurd beyond belief. He made many important discoveries, and his work had been a foundation for much later work.
In fact, I wonder if he is trying to tease us. Which would clearly make his comments vandalism.

It is your believe that I am worried about. That is, if this is suppose to be an encylopedia online. Maybe this site has nothing to do with science. Am I wrong?

- I am now convinced, after the last "edit", that 216 is a vandal, or as LP suggests, so confused that his/her edits are functionally vandalism. I am provisionally enacting a ban, which may or may not be reversed. --GFA 07:31, 30 Dec 2003 (GMT)
Thanx. 216.255 has given such a poor defense of their actions that I agree.
Also, I wrote this article out of annoyance at a view that many pseudoscientists are fond of, that mainstream scientists routinely overturn their theories. I ended up going into a lot of detail, because that's what I thought was necessary to illustrate the remarkable continuity of various important strands of scientific thought. But I've provided a thumbnail sketch for each section. -- LP
