Talk:Old Earth Creationism

I've heard of the "proclamation"/"fulfillment" apologetic before, and it seems to me that this apologetic makes the Bible 'bulletproof' at the price of eliminating the Bible's usefulness as a guide to historical events, because the mere fact that Scripture says that such-and-such an event happened at Time X, doesn't give you any reason to believe that such-and-such really did happen at Time X instead of Time Y! -- 03:24 (BST) , 9 August 2004 172.148.24.175
- I've encountered another variant, similar to the Gap idea. It argued that the Genesis account described, not the creation of all life on Earth, but only of "the Land", i.e., the Holy Land, and specifically, the creation of the Garden of Eden, and the first humans, who were then placed within the Garden. That is, that God created a lush garden in the middle of a desert. There's no claim of previous ruin, however. Nik 06:08, 22 April 2008 (BST)
