Talk:List of biologists

The name is August Weismann, not Auguste. He was German, and Auguste is not a German name for men. Also, please google "Auguste Weismann" and "August Weismann". You will find 2 pages of the first and 10 pages of the second. Most pages writing "Auguste" are French, Spanish or other Latin languages. It's obviously usual in those languages to accommodate foreign names, as the Greek "Aristoteles" is accommodated as "Aristotle" in English. But English keeps names in modern languages as they are. The few English "Auguste" pages are probably either typos or copied from Latin sources.
