How do I get the numbering correct? When I insert carriage returns between two numbered paragraphs, the numbers start anew with 1. One could just write the numbers, but that's inelegant. There has to be a way to circumvent this!

Got it! you use <br> instead of carriage returns and <blockquote> and </blockquote> for indents that don't harm the numbering.

Several of the responses here overlap quite a bit. They could stand a bit of clean-up. I know there's a way to mark that, but I haven't figured it out yet. I'm learning! I'll add it to my to do list in case nobody else decides to take up the mission. --The Mess 19:50, 2 April 2006 (BST)
