Talk:Evolution is racist

An anonymous animist posted some nonsense. I deleted it, but I thought this section was worth responding to:

[Origin of Species] as it is today is nothing like it was when Darwin wrote it. The racist passages have been purposely omitted in the current version; even though most people know that Darwinism justified Victorian attitudes about rich and poor people and how Europeans were superior to everyone else so colonialism was deemed natural. They talk about how christians murdered millions during the Crusades, but forget that Mao Zedong, who hated religion, persecuted millions of religionists. Their belief system science has committed its own share of attrocities. The eugenics movement got the Nazi to kill fifty-million people. Science like religion is unrelaible. First they said cow milk is bad, then good, then bad, then good and now I don't where we are at. Science changes fast and facts like the cow milk stuff don't stay facts for long.

Firstly, this page is not about whether Darwin was racist. We have another page for that: Darwin himself was racist. Secondly, the use of evolution in aid of atrocities no more proves it wrong than the use of nuclear theory in nuclear weapons proves it wrong. Lastly, science is fortunate in that it corrects itself, and criticizes itself. So, expect disparate views on things as mundane as whether milk is good for you or not; it does not prove the science wrong, only that milk may in fact be good and bad for you, or that whether it is good or bad depends heavily on the type of milk or the person drinking it. If you don't trust science, which is trying to get the answer, but not getting very far, who else will you trust?
