Talk:Do you want to be descended from a monkey?

Moved from article:

  • Referring to #3: (LP: I believe that to be rather weak, since that common ancestor had been very monkeylike -- enough to be called a monkey.)
Right. Monkey or monkeylike is pointless nitpicking. I'm in favor of removing that response. --tk 11:51, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  • Referring to #4: (MV: IMO this is weak too. Also by evolution we descend from micro-organisms only a small step above "dirt" -- and by abiogenesis, actually from "dirt" itself.)
So what? This argument is reductio ad absurdum: "Why are you concerned about coming from monkeys, but not concerned about coming from dirt?" Abiogenesis doesn't come into it. --tk 11:51, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I removed the "common ancestor" response again. --tk (t) 10:13, 28 Jul 2005 (BST)

I removed this:

  • Humans are not descended from monkeys but from apes.

Reason: Apes descended from monkeys. --tk (t) 12:44, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)
