This page only discusses adaptive convergent evolution.

Not all homoplasies are the result of adaptation, and the word evolution does not necessarily suggest Natural Selection. This page needs a section on the role of stochastic forces in convergent evolution. (e.g. convergent Nucleotide substitutions in neutral DNA sequences).
