Don't the "attractors" in chaos theory demonstrate the untruth of the inference? I don't know enough of that math to speak to the point, but I do remember assisting someone once with some programming and graphics that produced bizarre, but strangely regular, even almost predictable patterns, from iterative equations that looked similar to pseudo-random number generators. Has a capable mathematician ever debated Dembski (or at least written rebuttals)? --Dmill96 06:02, 21 March 2006 (GMT)
- True. Actually chaos theory is the subject of my diploma thesis. There is so much wrong with Dembski's arguments... you can find lots of Dembski criticism from phsyicists and mathematicians on Talk Reason. --tk (t) 09:39, 21 March 2006 (GMT)
For a very simple fractal that shows just how easy randomness and physical law add up to make a pattern, check out the Sierpinski Triangle. It's one of my favorite creationist confounders because the principle can be explained in a matter of seconds and demonstrated readily online. --Suttkus 12:02, 21 March 2006 (GMT)
