Talk:Center for Scientific Creation

I don't get how I can reverse a redirect. When I started this changed Center for Scientific Creation had a #REDIRECT [[CSC]] and CSC had the actual content (that I had earlier updated). As part of trying for consistency on name vs abbreviation to access an organization, I copied all the content from page CSC and pasted than into page Center for Scientific Creation - no problem, looks fine. But when I attempted to alter CSC to contain just #REDIRECT [[Center for Scientific Creation]] it just showed up as text, not a redirect.

As best I can tell from reading the docs, perhaps a redirect has to be specified as the page is being created (I see an existing redirect can be updated to a new location but that's not the goal here). I don't believe I have ability to delete the CSC page and then add it, immediately supplying the redirect. If I am missing how this works, could someone please straighten me out. Or, if in fact the existing CSC page should be deleted, then immediately recreated with the redirect, please do this to assist in this consistency effort.

Also right now I've somewhat screwed this up in that both CSC and Center for Scientific Creation contain the same content and now neither is a redirect. It appears I'd have to revert page Center for Scientific Creation (or delete and recreate it) to restore the redirect.

My apologies for attempting to do something that I didn't know entirely how to accomplish.

Ok, CSC no redirects to Center for Scientific Creation. Most probably, what you did would have worked, if you had saved the page. When #REDIRECT [[Center for Scientific Creation]] is the only text on a page, "Show preview" shows
  1. REDIRECT Center for Scientific Creation
but when saved, the redirect will work. Markus Schmaus 02:51, 17 March 2006 (GMT)

Oops, well now I know. There are more like this to do so this is a big help. thanks.
