Its not a class. "Aves Linne sensu Chiappe 1992" (Archaeopteryx and Passer, which is how the page defines it) is a phylogenetically defined clade, not a Linnaean rank.

Aves is, and always has been, a class. It will remain so on its page. If you find the use of class and a node based definition of the taxon so egregious on the same page, I can remove the node-based definition. -- JGK 10:57 EDT, 4/18/04.
