- Simple Ad Hominem:
- Scientist: This fossil shows a transition between dogs and bears.
- Creationist: Don't trust that scientist! He's a Democrat!
- Abusive Ad Hominem:
- Scientist: This fossil shows a transition between dogs and bears.
- Creationist: Don't trust that scientist! He's a gibbering moron!
- It's possible to direct the "counterargument" against a person without actually insulting them. It's also possible to insult someone without it being an ad hominem, just don't make an argument out of it! --Suttkus 13:33, 6 April 2006 (BST)
