Sauropods are among the most famous of dinosaurs, including the iconic Apatosaurus and Diplodocus amongst their ranks. Holophyly of Sauropoda is universally accepted, and there are over thirty autapomorphies supporting this conclusion (Gauthier 1986, Dodson et al 1990), precluding their reiteration here. I merely refer the reader to the appropriate references quoted herein.
