Remiges (singular remix) are a bird's flight feathers of the wing, including the primaries, secondaries, and tertiaries. Most birds typically have 10 primaries (although this number can be higher, as in Podicipediformes, with 12, or lower, as in the nine-primaried oscines), with secondaries varying widely according to the length of the ulna. For example, hummingbirds have 6 or 7, while grebes have over 20.
