Polygyny
From EvoWiki
Polygyny: males control mating access to more than one female as contrasted to the rarer polyandry where female control access over more than one male.
Polygyny is the most commonly found mating system in mammals and also in humans as reported by G. P. Murdock's Ethnographic Atlas (described by R. Dawkins in The Ancestor's Tale, p.208). Polygyny is frequently accompanied by (in mammals) sexual dimorphism, most often larger size for the males, but this may include any type of advantage used for competition with other males.
