This page is meant to provide a comprehensive timeline of all notable events relating to the peppered moth, Kettlewell and his experiments, and the recent controversy due to Wells and Hooper's claims that the peppered moth example is in disarray. I will mostly be adding references with links and short descriptions, and some events, I encourage others to do the same.

The Great London Smog. Web Link.

Weather conditions cause smog to accumulate in London from December 5-10, 1952. About 4,000 deaths above the normal background rate coincided with a spike in sulfur dioxide and smoke particle measurements. This event led to air pollution legislation in 1956.
