Holophyly of Ornithischia is practically unquestioned, and has been since Seeley's 1888 defense of that very subject. The list of autapomorphies which underwrite ornithischian holophyly numbers 31 (following Dodson et al 1990), rendering it too lengthy to list here. Instead, the author will offer the principal and most recognizable ornithischian autapomorphy for consideration: a predentary bone is present at the front of the mandible.
