Monkey
From EvoWiki
The word "monkey" is used in the vernacular to stand for all primates excepting humans, but such usage is incorrect. Lemurs, lorises, and tarsiers (the prosimians) are not monkeys. Neither are gibbons, siamangs, orangutans, gorillas, chimpanzees, or bonobos (the hominids or apes). The monkeys are divided taxonomically into two groups, the Old World monkeys (which are native to Africa and Southern Asia) and the New World monkeys (which are native to Central and South America). Some New World monkeys include marmosets, tamarins, howler monkeys, and spider monkeys. Some Old World monkeys are baboons, macaques, and geunons.
