Molecular biology is the study of life at the molecular level, most commonly the study of DNA, RNA and proteins in the cell. The field overlaps with the fields of genetics and biochemistry.
Important processes studied by molecular biologists include gene expression, cell signaling, DNA replication and the polymerase chain reaction.
