Michael J. Benton
From EvoWiki
Michael J. Benton is an expert on the phylogeny of Diapsida, with significant revisions of diapsid phylogeny appearing in 1982, 1984 and 1985. Benton has also devoted a great deal of work to unraveling the origins and early evolution of archosaurs, as well the derivation of Dinosauria, and his early papers on these subjects (1983b, 1984b, 1984c, 1984d, 1986) remain standard references in any contemporary analysis of archosaur phylogeny. Benton has also reviewed the osteology of Scleromochlus taylori and its implications for the origin of Pterosauria and Dinosauria (1999).
