Many animals don't require fresh or live food

Claim
Although a few animals have specialized food needs, such animals are rare, the needs are often exaggerated, and the specialized diets are not labor- or space-intensive. In short, the specialized dietary needs of animals do not prevent the voyage of Noah's Ark from being feasible.

Responses
- This is simply a Just So Story made up to make Noah's job of caring for the animals easier.
- The creationists who use this claim do not care to realize that the majority of those animals that don't require fresh or live food are specialists, such as the Lammergeier, which feeds only on bones, and the occasional tortoise. Those creationists also refuse to realize that those animals that do require fresh or live food will become seriously ill if allowed to feed on, or are force-fed food that is not fresh, live, or otherwise unacceptable.
- Actually most plants have at least one or two species of insect that are specialized for feeding on or from them.
- The number of animals that do not have specialized needs is not important. That (to make up a number) 95% of animals aren't specialized doesn't change the fact that many thousands of species are and Noah couldn't possibly supply for all of them.
- The cats, for example, are a small number of the total, but must eat meat. So enough animals for food for the cats, especially the big cats, must be carried.
- Fresh or live is immaterial; 40 days of food for a ship full of animals would require another ship the same size.
- Or, more realistically, 3 ships to carry the animals alone, and another 9 to carry the food. That would not be totally outside the realm of technological ability of a amateur shipbuilder 5000 years ago, although it is still a pretty big stretch. Taking a small ship and making it 12 times bigger doesn't give it 12 times the floating capacity.
