Louis Dollo
From EvoWiki
Louis Dollo is primarily remembered for his "law" which stated that traits were not ontogenetically reversible, i.e., if lost, a trait could not be regained and vice versa. Dollo's law had a profound influence on the work of Gerhard Heilmann and is evident in the argument presented in his 1926 tome The Origin of Birds. Dollo also worked on excavating and restoring specimens of Iguanodon from a mass-grave at Bernissart in Belgium.
