- Walt Disney Fallacy - attributing human traits to other creatures or inanimate objects
- Weak Analogy - when arguing for one hypothesis to be true, pointing out another, true hypothesis having some superficial similarities to the first
- "What if" fallacy - speculating what would have happened in other circumstances, then drawing conclusions from the speculation
- Wicked Alternative - giving two possibilities as the only two when in reality there are other possibilities
- Wilful Ignorance - "I've got my mind made up, so don't confuse me with the facts"
- Willed Ignorance - "I've got my mind made up, so don't confuse me with the facts"
- Wishful Thinking - "if it ought be like this, it is like this"
- With this, therefore because of this - "A happens together with B. So A is the cause of B"
- Word Magic - "if there is a word for it, it must exist"
- Wouldchuck - speculating what would have happened in other circumstances, then drawing conclusions from the speculation
- Wrong Direction - concluding that A caused B when it's the other way around
- Wrong Direction of Cause and Effect - concluding that A caused B when it's the other way around
