  • Walt Disney Fallacy - attributing human traits to other creatures or inanimate objects
  • Weak Analogy - when arguing for one hypothesis to be true, pointing out another, true hypothesis having some superficial similarities to the first
  • "What if" fallacy - speculating what would have happened in other circumstances, then drawing conclusions from the speculation
  • Wicked Alternative - giving two possibilities as the only two when in reality there are other possibilities
  • Wilful Ignorance - "I've got my mind made up, so don't confuse me with the facts"
  • Willed Ignorance - "I've got my mind made up, so don't confuse me with the facts"
  • Wishful Thinking - "if it ought be like this, it is like this"
  • With this, therefore because of this - "A happens together with B. So A is the cause of B"
  • Word Magic - "if there is a word for it, it must exist"
  • Wouldchuck - speculating what would have happened in other circumstances, then drawing conclusions from the speculation
  • Wrong Direction - concluding that A caused B when it's the other way around
  • Wrong Direction of Cause and Effect - concluding that A caused B when it's the other way around
