- Pathetic Fallacy - Attribution of human aspirations, emotions, feelings, thoughts, or traits to events or inanimate objects which do not possess the capacity for such qualities
- Peer Pressure - "lots of people believe this, it must be right"
- Perfect Solution Fallacy - rejecting an explanation solely because it doesn't solve the problem perfectly
- Perfectionist Fallacy - rejecting an explanation solely because it doesn't solve the problem perfectly
- Permanent Promise - predicting that the evidence will soon be in
- Persimplex responsum fallacy - if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail to you
- Personal Appeal - appeal to the personal preferences, dislikes, or weaknesses of those one wants to convince
- Personal Attack - attacking, instead of the position or argument, the person who holds it
- Personal Attack, abusive form - maligning the opponent
- Personal Attack, circumstantial form - rejecting a position because the person holding it has a vested interest in holding it
- Personification - attributing human traits to other creatures or inanimate objects
- Petitio principii - using a reformulation of an opinion as justification for that opinion
- Phantom Cause -
- Phantom Distinction - claiming there is a difference between two identical concepts
- Pigeonholing - attempting to subsume something into a frame of reference that is too small to incorporate it
- Plurium interrogationum fallacy - asking a question that doesn't allow an answer that denies a certain idea
- Poisoning the Well - distracting the audience and the opponent by baseless accusations against the opponent
- Political Correctness - "aren't you ashamed for having that opinion?"

- Popularity - "lots of people believe this, it must be right"

- Post Hoc - "B happened after A. So A is the cause of B"
- Post hoc ergo propter hoc - "B happened after A. So A is the cause of B"
- Post hoc Fallacy - "B happened after A. So A is the cause of B"
- Post hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy - "B happened after A. So A is the cause of B"
- Pragmatic Fallacy - "this belief has really bad (good) consequences, it must be wrong (right)"
- Prejudicial Fallacy - representing whatever position coincides with whatever prejudices the speaker perceives in the audience
- Prejudicial Language - when arguing for one hypothesis, using words that presuppose that hypothesis to be true
- Presenting the "Good" Reason - selecting, as the explanation for one's actions or ideas, a credible fact when other explanations could be had
- Presumption -
- Pretentiousness - Assuming omniscience with respect to the subject under consideration
- Pretentious Antecedent - Having made a brief reference to or speculation about a phenomenon, asserting that the phenomenon has now been fully explained
- Process-Product Ambiguity -
- Professor of Nothing - quoting an alleged expert with a title like "professor", omitting to mention that the discipline in which he earned the title is irrelevant to the subject
- Proof by Selected Instances - using stories as evidence which have already been selected for availability or interest
- Prosecutor's Fallacy -
- Proving a Negative - "absence of evidence is evidence of absence"
- Proving a premise from a conclusion fallacy - "if A is true, then B is true; B is true, therefore A is true"
- Pseudo Rebuttal - misrepresenting the opponent's position
- Psychologist's Fallacy - assuming oneself to be objective
