Laetoli footprints
From EvoWiki
The Laetoli footprints are fossilised footprints from two (or perhaps three) individuals. They were preserved because of the eruption, soon after, of a mountain twelve miles away, around 3.7 million years ago (determined by K/Ar radiometric dating). They were clearly bipedal; more specifically, they walked at a slow pace with short steps on two feet. The larger one stood at 4 feet 9 inches, and the smaller one stood at 4 feet 1 inch. Scientists have also found skeletal remains of Australopithecus afarensis at Laetoli.
