Julian Huxley

Sir Julian Sorell Huxley (1887-1975) was a renowned British biologist and grandson of "Darwin's Bulldog", Thomas Huxley. He was Professor at Rice University, Oxford University, and later King's College, London.
Huxley was the first director of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the founder of the World Wildlife Fund. His major theoretical contributions included the role of emergence in biological processes. He was one of the founders of the modern synthesis.
