John H. Ruben
From EvoWiki
John H. Ruben is a physiologist and student of paleometabolics at Oregon State University, and has gained notoreity in the past decade through a series of studies in which he advanced the argument that soft-anatomy and osteology of Dinosauria conclusively demonstrates their status as unmitigated ectotherms. Ruben has also made the bold claim that theropods possessed a crocodile-like pelvovisceral pump, thus precluding their being ancestral to birds on the basis of irreconcilably different aerobic systems. Ruben's work, while in some cases innovative and correct, by and by has a significant want of factual basis, and has been extensively refuted by numerous researchers, a summary of which can be found in Paul (2002).
