Insects and other invertebrates were not taken aboard the Ark during Noah's flood. They survived on vegetation mats.

- The Bible clearly states that every living thing on Earth died, except for that which was carried on Noah's Ark. It is not clear why those Creationists who believe the Biblical Flood account as reliable fact, would explicitly contradict that account in attempting to justify their belief.
- There are insects that can only survive in dry, arid conditions, some that only thrive in soil, some that only eat one particular insect, some that parasitize other insects, some that live for less than a week, some that must parasitize mammals, birds, or other insects in order to survive, etc., etc. This explanation is not sufficient to fill the needs of all insects.
