Claim

The Flood waters came from a layer of water about ten miles underground, which was released by a catastrophic rupture of the earth's crust, shot above the atmosphere, and fell as rain.

Responses

  1. Where did it go afterwards?
  2. There is no seismic evidence of a hydroplate.
  3. The temperature in the crust at a depth of 10 miles is well over boiling point so flooding would have been a minor concern in regard to being parboiled to death by the resulting steam.
  4. Any eruption powerful enough to shoot this water miles into the air (the hydroplate theory even suggests this was the source of comets and meteors) would have been powerful enough to destroy Noah and his ark
  5. There is no suggested mechanism for the formation of these hydroplates other than "God made it just so"
