Gradualism
From EvoWiki
In evolutionary biology gradualism is the theory that states that evolution is stable and continuous and is not characterized by rapid bursts of change. Punctuated equilibrium by contrast states that evolution can occur in rapid bursts.
In geology, gradualism is the theory that geological features are generally the result of gradual change. Catastrophism on the other hand states that most or all geological features are the result of sudden changes. Creationists generally oppose geological gradualism and advocate catastrophism.
