Responses
- Modern French language has only one word for "monkey" and "ape," which is "singe," which is the equivalent of the English word "primate." Of course Peking Man was ape-like. It was an ape, in the same way that modern humans are apes.
- This doesn’t matter because modern humans are not descended from Peking Man but instead evolved from Homo ergaster in Africa.

Fallacies contained in this claim
- Appeal to Authority (this should be obvious)
- Exclusion (The fact that French has no single word to distinguish between "ape" and "monkey" is conveniently ignored)
- Equivocation (That the French use the word singe can be used refer to either monkey, ape, or primate is conveniently ignored, also)
