Forbidden Archeology - The Hidden History of the Human Race
From EvoWiki
Forbidden Archeology - The Hidden History of the Human Race, Bhaktivedanta Booktrust, 1993, Cremo, Michael A., Thompson, Richard L., is a book written by two Hindu creationists, containing claims about supposed fossil anomalies.
It presents a selection of obsolete scientific data published in peer reviewed scientific journals over the last 150 years, allegedly demonstrating that hominids have existed for much longer than present archaeological dogma will admit. The reason these scientific studies are not given credence by scientists today is because some of them could not be verified, others were just bad scholarship.
Cremo is not a creationist as such but rather an advocate of the views on human origins held by Indian spiritual traditions (such as Buddhism, Jainism and his own faith Gaudiya Vaishnavism) which argue that humans are spiritual beings who have 'devolved' from a pre-material or non-material state of pure consciousness. He has explained this theory in more detail in his book, 'Human Devolution: A Vedic Alternative to Darwin's Theory', Bhaktivedanta Book Trust,2003.
Phillip E. Johnson, former professor of law at UC Berkeley and prominent advocate of intelligent design is quoted as endorsing the book on its cover, as "Dr. Phillip Johnson", without naming his faculty, making it seem as if he were an expert for the subject (Professor of Nothing).
