- In fact "evolutionism" does go back to pre-Christian times - the change between each generation of living organisms was first described by the ancient Greek philosopher Anaximander. However, invalidating evolutionary biology simply because it was documented over 2000 years ago is as nonsensical as claiming that the Bible is invalid because Moses started writing it before Jesus Christ's birth, or that robust theories of gravity are invalid because even the Greeks knew that things fall towards the ground.
- This claim is solely based on the incorrect idea that Pagans or people who practice polytheistic, pantheistic and or animistic pre Christian earth based religions are evil and worship the devil, which is untrue as pagans do not worship the devil (in fact, the majority of modern pagan religions do not even have a concept of the devil) and are not anti-Christian.
- Even if people in pre-Christian times and people who believe in pre-Christian religions were all evil, this does not make evolution incorrect. Evolution is descriptive, not prescriptive - it does not tell you what is moral and what is immoral.
- This claim directly contradicts the claim Evolution is atheistic because the vast majority of pre-Christian religions were composed of polytheists.
