Evgeny Kurochkin

Evgeny Kurochkin, eminent paleornithologist who has carried out extensive review of the fossil record of Aves, described mutiple Eurasian enantiornithine taxa, and argued for a Cretaceous origin of Anseriformes. Kurochkin is also one of the few paleontologists to accept the validity of Protoavis texensis (see Kurochkin 1995). Kurochkin also discovered and described Ambiortus dementjevi.
