Erwin Schrödinger, one of the most important physicists of the 20th Century, Schrödinger developed the wave equations of quantum physics and was influential in the development of this theory. Schrödinger was unable to accept the implications of quantum theory in its fullest, and later commented famously when asked what he made of it: "I don't like it and I'm sorry I ever had anything to do with it."

He is the author of the book What is Life?
