Chance
From EvoWiki
The word Chance (accidental, random, unexpected) has several meanings and is thus very useful for creationist equivocation. First, the mechanism of evolution is called "chance" because it contains random elements and does not explicitly involve gods. Then, the non-random part is palmed, and the word "chance" is interpreted as purely random. Now you've got a Straw Man absurd enough to shoot down with ease.
Creationist claims using that equivocation:
- Complex specified information indicates design
- There is a law of conservation of information
- Pure chance can't create new structures
- First cells couldn't come together by chance
