Responses
- This claim contradicts the claim of "The Bible is target of persecution." It is very strange that the Bible can remain so popular when it is the target of a massive, worldwide conspiracy with the goal of suppressing it.
- Popularity does not mean accuracy.
- Many Christians have widely divergent beliefs on a variety of issues. Popularity does not mean consensus.
- The spread of Christianity by colonization plays a role in its geographic distributions.
- While available to 98% of the world's population, at least 2/3rds of the world does not choose it. If popularity were somehow a measure of accuracy, then 2:1 preference against the Bible would substantially dispute its accuracy.
- World of Warcraft and Harry Potter are popular, does that make them true? On a similar note, three-quarters of Americans hold at least one pseudoscientific belief. [1] None of these are any more scientific, logical, or reasonable for it.
Fallacies contained in this claim
