Alcidae

Alcidae is a family of marine paleartic birds which includes the auks, puffins, guillemots, murres, murrelets, including the now extinct but iconic Alca impennis -- the Great Auk, eradicated in 1844.

Alcidae are members of the Charadriiformes.
