Explanation
If the opponent doesn't seem confident, dismissing his statements on the basis of that.
Countermeasure
Point out that confidence is not correlated with truth. Those who are the most confident in their opinions can be totally wrong, especially if they are so confident that they think they don't need any scientific procedures to test the opinions.
